About Us
Built on History.
Open for our Community.
Our History
Every building has a soul, but ours has a blueprint written by the very men who laid the foundations of this city.
The story of the Colorado Springs Masonic Center goes back long before Colorado was granted statehood. In 1867, our pioneer brethren chartered the first lodge in what was then Colorado City years before the city of Colorado Springs was even founded. By 1872, those early Masons bought twenty acres of untouched mesa land on the west side of the city for the princely sum of twenty-two dollars and fifty cents.
For a century, that land sat quiet. Then, a group of visionaries decided it was time to build a permanent sanctuary for the craft. The cornerstone was laid in December of 1975, and by July of 1976, our doors officially opened.
Today, our building is exactly half a century old. Standing beneath the shadow of Pikes Peak, this mid-century landmark has watched the city evolve around it. But a building can't just be a museum or a static piece of history. To honor the men who built it, we practice Active Stewardship, the act preserving the character of this landmark while continuing to improve, protect, and open it to the community it was built to serve.

Who We Are Today
We are a diverse fraternity of combat veterans, retired law enforcement officers, tech professionals, and blue-collar workers bound by a shared warrior ethos and hearts of gold. Though our backgrounds are different, we are united by the timeless principles of brotherhood, integrity, discipline, and service to the community around us.
We treat this building with a deep sense of respect, maintaining its spaces with care while continuing to modernize and protect the landmark entrusted to us. At fifty years old, the Colorado Springs Masonic Center is more active than ever, serving as both the home of Masonic tradition and a gathering place for the wider Colorado Springs community!
Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve this historic landmark while keeping it active, welcoming, and meaningful for future generations. Through Murray Hall and our dedicated event spaces, we host weddings, community gatherings, military events, cultural productions, fundraisers, and celebrations that bring people together under one roof.
We believe in pointing our moral compass north, protecting our community, and continuing the legacy built by the men who came before us. By opening our doors to Colorado Springs, we hope to ensure this temple remains a place for strong values, meaningful connections, and great ideas for the next fifty years and beyond.
